This is what those from the west call haystacks but those from the east call chocolate macaroons

Ingredients
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 2 cups quick oats
  • 1 cup cocoanut
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions
  1. boil sugar, milk, cocoa and butter for 5 minutes
  2. remove from heat
  3. add oats, cocoanut and vanilla
  4. stir well and drop on wax paper
