Mushroom Pie

- 1 tablespoon olive oil shopping list
- 10 ounces fresh mushrooms of your choice, sliced shopping list
- 1 large onion, chopped shopping list
- 4 slices bacon, chopped shopping list
- 3/4 cup heavy cream shopping list
- 1 cup shredded cheese of your choice (Gatoula uses Swiss) shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
- 1 teaspoon fresh dill, chopped shopping list
- 1 (17.25 ounce) package frozen puff pastry, thawed shopping list
- 1 egg, beaten shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Heat oil in skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add mushrooms, onion and bacon.
- Cook and stir for 5 minutes OR until vegetables are tender.
- Reduce heat to medium.
- Add cream and dill.
- Cook and stir for 10 minutes more.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in cheese to melt.
- Place one sheet puff pastry on a well-oiled baking sheet.
- Carefully place mushroom mixture on top of pastry.
- Cover with second puff pastry sheet.
- Press edges together to make a seal.
- Poke hole in top pastry with fork.
- Brush pastry with beaten egg.
- Bake for 40 minutes OR until golden brown.
- Remove from oven.
- Cool.
- Cut and serve.
