Ingredients

How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Heat oil in skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add mushrooms, onion and bacon.
  • Cook and stir for 5 minutes OR until vegetables are tender.
  • Reduce heat to medium.
  • Add cream and dill.
  • Cook and stir for 10 minutes more.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir in cheese to melt.
  • Place one sheet puff pastry on a well-oiled baking sheet.
  • Carefully place mushroom mixture on top of pastry.
  • Cover with second puff pastry sheet.
  • Press edges together to make a seal.
  • Poke hole in top pastry with fork.
  • Brush pastry with beaten egg.
  • Bake for 40 minutes OR until golden brown.
  • Remove from oven.
  • Cool.
  • Cut and serve.

    Wow, seeing this recipe just took me back. My mother used to make a mushroom pie when I was a child and everyone loved it. She stoped making it as we both got older. I will have to try this recipe. Thanks for the post and thanks for the memory.
