I love soup in the winter and this is one of my favorites

Ingredients
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 32. oz. jar spaghetti sauce
  • 1 4.5 oz jar sliced mushrooms
  • 2 tbls. bottled creamy Italian dressing
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Dumplings
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup frozen chopped spinach, (thawed, and squeezed to drain)
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tbls. oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4-1/2 cup milk (start with 1/4 cup)

Directions
  1. In skillet, brown ground beef, then drain
  2. Add spaghetti sauce, mushrooms, salad dressing and water
  3. Bring to boil
  4. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally
  5. Dumplings
  6. In mixing bowl, blend flour baking powder and salt
  7. In another mixing bowl, combine spinach, cheese, oil, egg, and milk and mix well
  8. Add to dry ingredients and stir until just combined, adding more milk if needed to form soft dough
  9. Drop dough by tbls. onto stew
  10. Cover tightly and simmer until dumplings are fluffy, about 12-14 minutes
