Ingredients

How to make it

  • In a saucepan, combine beer, water, sugar, salt, butter & cheese
  • Over low/med, heat the mixture stirring often until it steams and cheese is melty. DO NOT BOIL
  • Remove from heat and let cool to lukewarm, about 100 Fahrenheit
  • In a large bowl combine 2 cups flour with yeast
  • Add warm cheese mixture (if it is too hot it'll kill your yeasties)
  • Combine well with wooden spoon
  • Stir in remaining flour to make a stiff bread dough
  • Knead properly
  • Let rise until double
  • Punch down and form into 2 loaves
  • Let these rise until double again
  • Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 50 minutes or until they are done
  • Remove from oven
  • Rub the end of a butter stick over them and sprinkle lightly with Kosher salt.
  • Enjoy!
