Ingredients
  • 1 cup Eagle Brand milk
  • 1 cup chopped dates
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1-1/2 stacks Ritz crackers
  • 1 stick margarine, softened

Directions
  1. Combine milk, pecans, and dates.
  2. Cook over very low heat until mixture thickens (15-20 minutes).
  3. Let cool.
  4. Put spoonful on Ritz crackers.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes.
  6. Let cool.
  7. Topping
  8. (Makes enough for 2 batches)
  9. 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  10. 4 teaspoons vanilla
  11. 1 lb. powdered sugar
  12. Mix cream cheese, margarine, vanilla, and powdered sugar.
  13. Put on top of date mixture.
  14. Refrigerate to set up frosting.
  15. Makes 5 dozen.

These sound great. I love the idea of mixing up the dates and nuts with the condensed milk to make a spread. What a nice addition to your holiday parites.
