How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Toss the pear slices in lemon juice and combine with cranberries in an ungreased 9- by 13-inch baking pan (see Note); toss with granulated sugar, flour and cinnamon.
  • In a bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar and butter with a fork until crumbly. Sprinkle over fruit mixture.
  • Bake for 30 minutes, or until the fruit is tender and the topping is lightly browned.
  • Serve warm, at room temperature, or chilled.

    i got this recipe- or something almost identical- from epi a few years ago and made it as a dessert for christmas dinner with my family..

    my mom loved it so much that she insisted on leaving with all the leftovers to bring to her friends!..

    this is really good- i can vouch for that...
    and the pears are MUCH nicer than apples...really lightens everything and gives it a certain elegance that elevates the whole dish....
