Sausage Olive And Cherry Empanadas

Tasty combo of turkey sauasage, olives, onions and cherries which is filled in arefrigerated biscuit dough for a great appetizer for the holiday season
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey sausage shopping list
- 1 cup chopped onions shopping list
- 1/4 cup dried cherries or cranberries chopped shopping list
- 1/4 cup pitted asnd chopped Kalama olives shopping list
- 1/2 cup fine chopped scallions shopping list
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
- 1 tube of large buttermilk biscuits shopping list
- 1 egg for egg wash shopping list
How to make it
- In a skillet add sausage, onions and cherries and cook and stir over medium heat till mereat is no longer pink,
- Stir in remaining ingredeints cook 2 minutes and season to taste
- Cool
- On a lightly floured surface cut each biscuit into quarters
- Use your hand to roll each quarter into a ball.
- Roll out with a rolling pin to a 3 inch circle
- Put one tsp of mixture in center.
- Brush edges of dough with water
- Fold over in half to seal
- Press ededes with tines of fork
- Brush with beaten egg
- Place on cooking sprayed baking sheets
- Bake in a 375 oven until golfden about 12 to 15 minutes.
- Serve hot
