Southern Jalapeno Hushpuppies

- 1 cup self-rising cornmeal shopping list
- 1/2 cup self-rising flour shopping list
- 1/2 tsp sugar shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1/4 tsp sage shopping list
- 1 small onion, finely chopped shopping list
- 3 whole green onions, finely chopped shopping list
- 2 tbs jalapeno peppers, finely chopped shopping list
- 1/2 cup whole kernel corn, drained shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 3/4 cup milk shopping list
How to make it
- Combine dry ingredients with onions, jalapeno peppers and corn.
- Beat egg until creamy. Stir egg into mixture.
- Gradually add milk, (amount of milk may vary.) Let mixture set for 10 minutes.
- Mixture should be thick enough to drop from a teaspoon to form 1-inch balls.
- Deep fry in hot fat (375 degrees) until lightly browned, about 3-4 minutes.
