How to make it

  • pre-heat oven to 350
  • spray bunt pan well with flour/oil spray (Baker's Joy, etc)
  • feel free to sprinkle slivered almonds in cake pan
  • in large mixing bowl combine cake mix and pudding
  • add amaretto, oil, and water
  • add eggs and mix for approximately 2 minutes
  • add extract and continue to mix for 30 seconds or so
  • pour in pan and bake for 45 minutes or until cake rises when touched. Oven temps vary so use your own judgement for doneness.
  • remove from pan to cooling rack when cake pulls away from pan sides . when cool enough to handle, place on cake dish.
  • may be glazed or injected with glaze while still warm
  • melt butter or margerine
  • slowly add sugar and water
  • when sugar is completely disolved, add amaretto
  • heat to a boiling then remove from heat
  • poke cake top and sides with fork
  • drizzle glaze over cake, filling in holes
  • you may also inject cake with 1/2 of glaze and drizzle remaining over top
  • glaze will appear to soak into cake, but not completely
