Softly warm and sensual almond flavored bunt cake with a lingering taste of amaretto. Perfect for chacing away winter chills. Serve warm or cooled. No one will suspect it's from a BOX.

Ingredients
  • 1 box french vanilla cake mix
  • 1 box instant french vanilla pudding (small box)
  • 3/4 cup amaretto
  • 1/2 cup cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 extra large eggs (duck eggs, if available)
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • chopped or slivered almonds
  • Amaretto Glaze
  • 1 stick butter or margerine
  • 1 cup granulated white sugar ( lessen amount if too sweet)
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup amaretto
  • 2 Tbs Water

Directions
  1. pre-heat oven to 350
  2. spray bunt pan well with flour/oil spray (Baker's Joy, etc)
  3. feel free to sprinkle slivered almonds in cake pan
  4. in large mixing bowl combine cake mix and pudding
  5. add amaretto, oil, and water
  6. add eggs and mix for approximately 2 minutes
  7. add extract and continue to mix for 30 seconds or so
  8. pour in pan and bake for 45 minutes or until cake rises when touched. Oven temps vary so use your own judgement for doneness.
  9. remove from pan to cooling rack when cake pulls away from pan sides . when cool enough to handle, place on cake dish.
  10. may be glazed or injected with glaze while still warm
  11. melt butter or margerine
  12. slowly add sugar and water
  13. when sugar is completely disolved, add amaretto
  14. heat to a boiling then remove from heat
  15. poke cake top and sides with fork
  16. drizzle glaze over cake, filling in holes
  17. you may also inject cake with 1/2 of glaze and drizzle remaining over top
  18. glaze will appear to soak into cake, but not completely
