SOUR CREAM CABBAGE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Sanderson Estate in Bonham, Texas in 1984. Notation on card indicates this came from a 1961 Cookbook entitled Recipes from the Old South. Read more See less
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter shopping list
- 4 cups grated cabbage shopping list
- 1 teaspoon alt shopping list
- 1 tablespoon sugar shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon Tabasco shopping list
- 1/2 cup sour cream shopping list
How to make it
- Melt butter in skillet then add grated cabbage and cook over low heat 20 minutes.
- Stir constantly during cooking then add salt, sugar, Tabasco and sour cream.
- Stir cream through cabbage until mixture is thoroughly heated but do not boil.
