Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes And Ham

This is a simple one, I tweaked it from a 1972 version of The Better Homes and Gardens cookbook. (One of those good old standby cookbooks. Don't do this in a crock pot. If you do you get that separation of Cheese and State that the 1st Amendment talks about. Ingredients
- 3 TBS butter or margarine shopping list
- 2 TBS all purpose flour shopping list
- 1/4 tsp pepper shopping list
- 3 Cups milk shopping list
- 6 Medium to large potatoes peeled and thinly sliced shopping list
- 1/4 Cup chopped onion shopping list
- 2 Cups Diced cooked ham shopping list
- 1 1/2 inch of Velveeta cheese shopping list
- 1/2 cup dry, fine, bread crumbs shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350
- Make white sauce with first 4 ingredients.
- Add cheese and onion until cheese is melted
- Grease a baking dish
- Layer 1/2 potatoes, ham and cheese sauce in that order repeat and top with bread crumbs.
- Cover and bake at 350 for about 1 hour (until potatoes are tender)
- Uncover and bake for 30 minutes longer
- Cheese, Ham, Potatoes
