How to make it

  • Trim, stem, halve and wash the sprouts.
  • Put in microwave safe bowl, with the water left on them from washing.
  • Cover with wrap and steam in the microwave for 6 minutes at 50 percent power. Repeat in two minute intervals until just fork tender.
  • Drain.
  • While the sprouts are nuking away, brown and crumble the sage sausage in a large fry pan.
  • Drain on paper towels. Cook thoroughly.
  • Wipe out pan.
  • Heat oil, add leeks and cook until softened but not browned.
  • Season with salt, pepper, nutmeg. Turn off to rest.
  • Right before serving, Turn heat to high, add wine, sprouts and sausage.
  • Toss and serve when all is piping hot.

    Another unusual combination of ingredients! I usually slice and saute sprouts with olive oil and garlic but next time I will try your recipe. Thanks!
