Mussels Steamed In White Grape Juice Recipe
This is my version of a clam bake.

Ingredients
  • 2 lbs. mussels
  • 2 lbs. clams
  • 1 or 2 lbs. shrimp, deveined
  • 3 or 4 ears of corn
  • 1 or 2 Tb. of " Old Bay"
  • 1c. of white grape juice ( I don't measure, just pour)
  • sometimes I add crab legs and some kind of firm fish.
  • ( I think I saw something like this on foodnetwork) .

Directions
  1. rinse clams and mussels Get rid of open ones)
  2. In a big pot with a lid, add white grape juice
  3. Add ' Old Bay' and bring to a simmer
  4. Add corn, cook for about 5 minutes
  5. Add mussels, clams, shrimp and cook for about 5 more minutes or til clams and mussels are open. get rid of any that do not open.
  6. watch so the grape juice doesn'.t dry out
  7. I suppose red potatoes can be added about 10 minutes before the corn, hmmm what do you think?

I do not measure a lot of times ether.
This is sounds great to me I love the whole ears of corn. I have seen them roasted on a grille before adding them to this type of recipe.
The sweetness of the grape would go well with the sweetness of the crab.
Don't you just love that Old Bay.
