Beer Ribs Recipe
BEER RIBS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Seeley Estate in Mesquite, Texas in 2000.

Ingredients
  • 1/3 cup dark beer
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar firmly packed
  • 1 onion minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 pounds lean pork spareribs trimmed of excess fat and halved crosswise

Directions
  1. In large bowl combine all ingredients except spareribs.
  2. Cover spareribs with salted water and bring to boil and simmer for 20 minutes.
  3. Skim then drain and rinse briefly under cold water.
  4. Cut ribs into 1 rib sections and add to bowl of marinade stirring to coat well.
  5. Let ribs marinate covered at room temperature stirring occasionally for 2 hours.
  6. Preheat oven to 350 then arrange ribs meaty side up in 1 layer in lightly oiled baking pans.
  7. Brush with some marinade then bake in middle of oven turning and basting occasionally 1 hour.
  8. Serve warm or at room temperature.
