I hate to buy canned soup, just because when you get to the end, there are things in there I can't pronounce, let alone know what they are, so I read the ingredients and try to make it myself. This is my version of homemade Campbells Beefy Soup, and... More

I am with you on this. Even if you can't/don't have time to make a stock, you can buy a decent one. Add what you have/want, veggies, meat, pasta or potatoes. SOOO MUCH BETTER TASTING and HEALTHY! My store carries these really cute mini pastas for soup..tiny bowties and everything else..they are too tiny, cute and perfect for soup! Plus, you can get most of the veggies pre-diced and ready to put in the pot. Too easy, better tasting and healthier!

We Don't Buy Canned Soups Due To the High Sodium Content and Same as You, Things We Can't Pronounce. Soups Are Our Way Of Using Up Leftover Meats & Vegetables. We Save All Of Our Beef & Chicken Stock Just For Soups.

Thanks tillia and goblue, that's so cool that you commented on my recipie! I just made it up that day. I found it a little greasy, so I will work on that.
Love and kisses, Howie's on!

I can't remember the last time I used a canned soup. They have a disgusting flavor. Making your own versions are really not complicated and much healthier. You can put into your soup what you like. I feel that if you want to use a condensed cream soup for any dish, just make a thicker version of your own and use it in place of the canned stuff. Great post!
