Whole Oat Flapjacks

- 175g (6 oz) whole oats (or you could use porridge oats I have not used them) shopping list
- 1 rounded dessertspoon golden syrup shopping list
- 110g (4 oz) soft brown sugar shopping list
- 110g (4 oz) butter or margarine shopping list
- 3/4 teaspoon ground ginger shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven 150c / Gas 2
- lightly grease a 7 or 8-inch (18 or 20 cm) square baking tin at least 1 1/2 inches (4cm) deep
- Put sugar ,butter and golden syrup in a saucepan and heat gently until the butter has melted,stirring now and again.
- Take the saucepan off the heat and stir in the oats and ginger, mixing thoroughly
- Pour the mixture into the prepared tin and press it out evenly, using the back of a spoon or even your hand
- Bake in the centre of the oven for 40-45 minutes
- Allow it to cool in the tin for about 10 minutes before cutting into oblong bars
- Leave in the tin until thoroughly cold before removing them
- Store in a tin
