24 Hour Slaw Recipe
A slaw that keeps forever and has a great balance of sweet and tart. I especially like the addition of caraway, it has a nice nuance to the slaw. A great do ahead when you are busy.

Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup of cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of Dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon of celery seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon of caraway seed
  • a few grinds of black pepper
  • 1 green pepper sliced
  • 3 lb. head of cabbage, shredded
  • 2 medium onions, slivered

Directions
  1. Boil sugar, oil, vinegar, salt, mustard celery and caraway seeds together.
  2. Pour over green pepper, onions and cabbage.
  3. Add a few grinds of black pepper.
  4. Put in a covered dish and refrigerate 24 hours before serving.
