How to make it

  • Heat oven to 375°F.
  • In large bowl, beat shortening, brown sugar and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs and vanilla until creamy.
  • In medium bowl, mix together flour, baking soda and salt.
  • Gradually blend into creamed mixture.
  • Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Drop from small spoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes, until golden brown.

    OMG, there is a big mistake in this recipe. It's not a tablespoon of vanilla -- that's too toxic. It's a teaspoon! Maybe two teaspoons at the most. Please make that correction!!

    Similar recipe, Toll House I believe uses butter. Chipits are the Canadian Hershey's brand.

    Your picture looks great! Have never heard of that brand of choc. chips before...same recipe as toll house choc. chip recipe? Sometimes I use almond flavoring instead of vanilla. Thanks for sharing!
