Translated form a German recipe site, The name describes the wavy angles of th is pear filled dessert. Try using a removable bottom 9 inch tart pan. Schmand is something like a very thick sour cream.

  • Teig: Douh
  • 2 Eier- Eggs
  • 150 g Zucker- Sugar
  • 100 ml Orangensaft -Orange juice
  • 100 ml Öl- Oil
  • 150 g Mehl -Flour
  • 1 TL tsp Backpulver- Baking powder
  • BELAG -Filling:
  • 1 Dose Birnen (oder Pfirsiche) can of pears (or peaches) drained, reseve liquid
  • 1 Päckchen Packet Puddingpulver Vanille- 1 pkg,Vanilla pudding powder ( for cooking, not instant ) ie. Dr Oetkers brand
  • 1 Becher Sahne (200 ml) Cream cup (200 ml) -cream
  • 1 Becher Schmand (200 g) Schmand cup (200 g) - one tub/container thick sour cream
  • etwas Zimtzucker- little cinnamon sugar

Directions
  1. Zubereitung: Preparation:
  2. Beat Eggs and sugar foamy, add orange juice add oil, then flour, baking powder and gently mix into a dough.
  3. Place, fit into a LUMARA motif form (form with removable bottom) and bake at 200 ° C for about 15 minutes.
  4. Drain pears, reserve the juice.
  5. Coarsely chop pers by hand- .
  6. Mix the pear juice with the pudding powder and cook till thick, stir in the pear pieces - cool.
  7. Place the cooled pear mixture over cooled dough and let cool.
  8. Mix the Cream and Schmand spread over top of of the pears in a wavy or angled fashion.
  9. Sprinkle with cinnnamon sugar
  10. Chill well

I love Schmandwelle! The one difference when I prepare it is I coarsely chop the pears by hand rather than place them in a blender but that's how I was taught many years ago ;) For the puddingpulver, I use a päckchen/package of Bird's and a friend of mine uses Dr. Oetker puddingpulver. This recipe is so good it deserves 5++++ and so do you Midgelet for submitting it ;)


Yes, I thought of coarse chopping pears by hand and wondered why it was blenderized. I Think I will edit the recipe then!
