How to make it

  • Combined 1 cup flour, wheat germ yeast and salt in a large bowl
  • Add: butter water Molasses beat 2 minutes at medium speed with an electric mixer
  • Add 1/2 cup additional Flour Beat at high speed 2 minutes
  • Scraping down sides of bowl
  • with a wooden spoon beat in enough Flour to make a stiff batter
  • Cover bowl with clean towel
  • Let rise in warm place away from drafts
  • 45 minutes or untill double in bulk
  • Punch dough down beat vigorously for 30 seconds with wodden spoon
  • Place in prepared cassero;e
  • Bake untill bread sounds hollow when tapped. remove from casserole serve warm or cool completely
  • Given to me by a friend that was a baker. very good bread he says
