Bananas Foster Shortcake

- Biscuits: shopping list
- 2 ounces (about 1/3 cup) brie cheese, diced shopping list
- 2 1/2 cups Bisquick shopping list
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 3/4 cup water shopping list
- Sauce: shopping list
- 1 tbls. butter shopping list
- 4 large bananas, cut into 1/2-inch slices shopping list
- 1 tbls. sugar shopping list
- 1 cup plus 3 tbls. brown sugar shopping list
- 2 cups heavy cream shopping list
- 2 tbls. dark rum shopping list
- 2 tbls.banana liqueur shopping list
- Garnish: shopping list
- whipped cream shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 400
- Biscuits
- In mixing bowl, add diced cheese, Bisquick and sugar
- Mix well.
- Add water and mix thoroughly to make a wet batter
- Drop batter in 4 mounds onto a greased cookie sheet and bake on the top rack for 20 minutes or until cooked through
- (when wooden pick inserted in middle comes out clean).
- Remove from oven and cool on wire rack
- Sauce
- Melt butter in saucepan
- Saute bananas in butter for about 3 minutes
- Add sugars and stir until melted
- Add cream and, stirring constantly, cook over high heat until it reaches a boil
- Reduce heat to low and cook about 10 minutes
- Add rum and banana liqueur
- To serve, cut biscuits in half and pour sauce over bottom half
- Cover and top with whipped cream
