How to make it

  • Line a 9" pie plate with foil,over bottom,up sides,and over.
  • Butter the foil.
  • Place pecan halves rounded side down,top with sugar.
  • Place pie crust over this mixture.
  • In bowl combine apples,sugar,flour,salt,and lemon juice,mix ever so lightly.
  • Spoon into pastry lined pan,place butter on top.
  • Top with another pie crust,fold edge,seal ,slice through the covering to allow for steam.
  • Bake in a 450 degrees oven for 10 minutes,cover edge of pie edge with pie rim shield to keep from browning to excess.
  • Lower the oven to 375 degrees,and bake for about 35 minutes.
  • Cool pie upright for about 6 minutes.
  • Turn over onto serving plate.
  • Cool for about 1-1/2 Hours.
  • Whip Cream with a small amount of hazenut liquid creamer,and top pie slices.
