I always have squares of various flavors of chocolate left over after baking. I save up these leftovers and when i have enough, I make this sauce. It is very important that you use only the highest quality chocolate in this recipe (all recipes really).

- 6-8 ozs High quality chocolate, finely chopped.
- 1 cup Heavy cream
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla

Ingredients

6-8 ozs High quality chocolate, finely chopped. shopping list
1 cup heavy cream shopping list
1/2 cup light corn syrup shopping list
1 tsp vanilla shopping list

How to make it

Place chocolate in a stainless bowl.
Mix cream, vanilla and corn syrup in a stainless pot.
Bring cream, vanilla and corn syrup to a simmer.
Pour the mixture over the chopped chocolate and allow to melt for 3-4 minutes.
Wisk to combine.

The sauce is great on ice cream. Although I would be sure to use mostly semi-sweet chocolate for ice cream. Bitter-sweet might be, well, too bitter.

Would this be good on ice cream, do you think? Perhaps a Banana Split? It sounds yummo, although I'm like Michellem--what leftover chocolate???!!!

Great idea! Im not sure we will find any leftover chocolate in our house! Well I guess if its baking chocolate we will=0)..thanks for sharing~M
