Mortadella Stromboli

- 11/2c coarse grated swiss or gruyere cheese(6oz) shopping list
- 1c thinly sliced string cheese(4oz) shopping list
- etra virgin olive oil for brushing shopping list
- 1 13.8oz. package refrigerated pizza dough shopping list
- 10 fresh basil leaves shopping list
- 3/4c pitted black olives,roughly chopped shopping list
- 1/2c tomato sauce shopping list
- 1/4lb sliced mortadella,cut in 1/2" wide ribbons shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 425 Mix 1c swiss cheese with the string cheese.
- Lightly brush a baking sheet olive oil. Unroll dough,cut in half to make two 6x9" pieces and place on prepared pan.
- Spread 1/2 of the mixed chees along one side of each rectangle,leaving an inch border between the cheese and the dough edge. Top each mound of cheese with half the basil,1/4 of the olives,1/4c tomato sauce and 1/3rd of the mortadella. Fold the dough over filling lengthwise,pressing the edges to seal. Make slits in top of dough to allow steam to escape during baking.
- Bake till brown,about 15 mins;remove from the oven. Brush each with olive oil,then scatter the remaining olives,mortadella and cheese on top. Return to oven and bake until cheese melts andthe crust is golden. Rest 5 mins before serving.
