Ingredients
  • 8 ounces crabmeat (fresh or from flavor pouches), drain excess liquid
  • 1/2 cup half & half
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onion
  • 1 (10 3/4-oz) can cream of chicken soup
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 (9-in) deep dish pie shell, thawed

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients and pour into pie shell.
  3. Bake for 1 hour.
  4. Cool for 20 minutes so the quiche can set up.

Alterations


Here are a couple of ideas which I use in my cooking: try buttermilk instead of half-and-half for a really great taste; try baking the pie shell first at 450F for about 5-7 minutes; try putting some grated parmesan cheese first on the bottom of the pie shell and finally try sprinkling (or better yet, grating) some nutmeg on top - not much, just a few sprinkles!
