Cherry Nut Bread

- 3/4 cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter, softened shopping list
- 2 large eggs shopping list
- 1 teaspoons vanilla shopping list
- 1 teaspoon almond extract shopping list
- 1 cup buttermilk shopping list
- 2 cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped shopping list
- 1 cup maraschino cherries, chopped shopping list
- Nonstick pan spray shopping list

- bread Glaze: shopping list
- 1 cup powdered sugar shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter, melted shopping list
- 2 – 4 tablespoons cherry juice or milk shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large mixing bowl cream the sugar and butter until fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla, almond flavoring and buttermilk.
- Add the flour, baking soda and salt.
- Mix until dry ingredients are well blended.
- Fold in the chopped nuts and cherries.
- Spray pans with nonstick pan spray.
- Spread cherry nut bread batter evenly into prepared pans.
- Bake cherry bread in a hot oven for 53 - 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.
- Transfer cherry nut bread onto a wire rack to cool.
- In a small bowl, mix the powdered sugar, melted butter and enough of the cherry juice or milk until desired spreading consistency is reached. Drizzle the glaze over your yummy cherry nut bread.
- Recipe Yields: 2 small bread loaves
