Pasta e Fagioli

- 1 pound ditalini pasta shopping list
- 2 tablespoons olive oil shopping list
- 1 medium onion, diced shopping list
- 3 cloves garlic, minced shopping list
- 3 cups marinara sauce shopping list
- 1 cup water shopping list
- 2 can cannellini beans, rinsed and drained shopping list
- Grated parmesan cheese shopping list
- fresh parsley for garnish shopping list
How to make it
- Put a large pot of salted water on stove to boil.
- When boiling, cook ditalini until al dente, about 10 minutes.
- Drain and set aside.
- In another large pot heat olive oil and saute onion over medium heat until soft.
- Add garlic and saute a few seconds more.
- Add marinara sauce and water and simmer about 10 minutes.
- Add beans and continue to simmer until heated through.
- Add pasta and mix well.
- If sauce is too thick, add a little water to thin it.
- Serve in a large bowl with grated and parsley garnish.

I love Pasta Fagioli! I add some carrots, bacon and ground sausage to mine. As ditalini cooks, it gets bits of sausage inside. This recipe is a vegetarian version of soup. Very nice!

Lorraine this is my alltime favorite soup i crave this and have to go to olive garden to get it of course hahahaha
