Ingredients

How to make it

  • Drain 2 tablespoons oil from tuna into a large bowl.
  • Discard remaining oil.
  • Whisk in vinegar, garlic, thyme, salt and pepper.
  • Break tuna into large chunks.
  • Add to bowl with remaining ingredients.
  • Toss gently to mix.

    yeah- italians actually make a salad with vinaigrette and then add tuna to it...
    this is how my mom made it when i was growing up...
    and we never had it as a sandwich...

    you didn't actually include lettuce as part of the recipe-even though it's there in the pic..
    ;-)

    i think escarole would be a nice hearty green to use with this...it's also very italian..
    and i think i would use those tiny white beans instead of canellini which i find VERY starchy...

    overall i really like this recipe-
