Ingredients
  • for fried bananas.................
  • 2- large just ripe bananas
  • 1- cup ice water, less 1 tablespoon
  • 1 1/4 - cups tempura batter mix any brand
  • 1-tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
  • powdered sugar for dusting
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • *********************************
  • for coconut -green-tea sauce..............
  • 1- cup heavy cream
  • 4- green -tea bags ( eg, bigelow) or any other brand
  • 1- scoop of coconut sorbet ( ciao bella) is one brand
  • fresh raspberries for garnish
  • fresh mint sprigs for garnish

Directions
  1. peel and slice bananas digonally 1/4 inch thick.
  2. put ice water in a medium bowl
  3. fold tempura batter mix, pumpkin pie spice, and cayenne pepper into ice water,( batter will be thin and lumpy)
  4. heat 2 inches of oil into a medium saucepan to 350 degrees f.
  5. woring in batches , dip sliced bananas in batter, then slide into hot oil.......................
  6. fry for 2- 3 minutes or until golden brown.................
  7. remove from oil and dust with powdered sugar..............
  8. to make the sauce, bring cream to barely a simmer in a small saucepan over medium heat..................
  9. reduce heat to low and and add tea bags...............
  10. steep for 8 minutes.............
  11. remove bags and stir in coconut sorbet until it melts................
  12. serve hot fried bananas in a small pool of coconut- green tea sauce
  13. garnish with fresh berries and mint...............
  14. serves 4..............

Not just raspberries.. oh noooooo! We have to add coconut to the mix to make it even MORE difficult to resist. Plus I do so love bananas! Love at first bite, I'd say. You have, once again, more than earned the five you see here. I am not only a fan of this post but of you in general. Thanks, tink.

I agree the sauce is a real winner with coconut raspberries and fresh mint make it difficult to resist.
I have some batter mix and bananas left over from my Bananas Foster Smoothie recipe to use for this decadent recipe.
