German Chocolate Upside Down Cake

- 1-1/4 cups water shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter shopping list
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar shopping list
- 1 cup coconut shopping list
- 1 cup miniature marshmallows shopping list
- 1 cup chopped nuts shopping list
- Cake: shopping list
- 4 ounce bar German sweet chocolate shopping list
- 1/2 cup water shopping list
- 2-1/2 cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups granulated sugar shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 cup sour cream shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter softened shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350.
- In a small saucepan heat water and butter until butter melts.
- Pour mixture into an ungreased rectangular cake pan.
- Stir in brown sugar and coconut then sprinkle marshmallows and nuts over the top.
- In a saucepan over low heat melt chocolate with water.
- Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup and level off.
- Combine chocolate, flour, sugar, soda, salt, sour cream, butter, vanilla and eggs.
- Beat with hand mixer for 3 minutes on medium speed.
- Carefully spoon batter over coconut marshmallow mixture.
- Place pan on foil or cookie sheet to guard against spillage then bake 50 minutes.
- Invert onto a serving platter and allow to cool then serve.
