Connies Barbeque Sauce Recipe
We love barbeque sauce, so I love to experiment and see what I can come up with. This is my first try and it turned out well.

Ingredients
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 2 1/4 cups ketchup
  • 3/4 cups chicken broth
  • 1/3 cup bourbon
  • 3 tablespoons hot pepper sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cayenne pepper
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 6 tablespoons (packed) dark brown sugar
  • 4 1/2 tablespoons (light) molasses
  • 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar

Directions
  1. Heat oil in medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Press garlic through garlic press into pan. Stir 30 seconds.
  3. Add the ketchup, broth, bourbon, hot pepper sauce, cayenne, soy sauce, brown sugar, molasses, and vinegar.
  4. Bring sauce to a simmer.
  5. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer until reduced to 3 cups, stirring occasionally, about 15 minutes.
  6. Store in a non-reactive bowl in the fridge.
  7. Can be made 1 week ahead.
