Raisin Sauce Recipe
A rum raisin sauce Grandma Robert's wrote in her cookbook, circa 1962. She served it over waffles or ice cream.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup of seedless raisins
  • 2 cups of water
  • 2 tbsp of corn starch
  • 2 tbsp of brown sugar
  • 1/8 tsp of salt
  • 1/8 tsp of ground ginger
  • 1/8 tsp of cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp of cold water
  • 1 tbsp of butter
  • 2 tbsp of lemon juice (or rum)

Directions
  1. Simmer one cup of raisins in water for 15 minutes
  2. Make a paste of corn starch, sugar, salt, spices and cold water.
  3. Add to raisins and heat until thick.
  4. Remove from heat and add the butter, and rum.
  5. Stir well and serve over ice cream or sliced pound cake.

OH that sounds sooo yummy,raisins with ginger, cinnamon, and rum, and serve warm over a really good vanilla ice cream. I'd like to try some right now.......:)
