Irish Soda Bread

- 3 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 Tbs baking powder shopping list
- 1/3 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 tsp baking soda shopping list
- 1 egg, slightly beaten shopping list
- 2 cups buttermilk shopping list
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease a 9x5" loaf pan.
- Sift together flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and baking soda in a deep bowl.
- Blend eggs and buttermilk. Add all at once to the flour mixture. Mix until just moistened. Stir in butter and mix well.
- Turn into greased pan.
- Bake for 65-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool. Wrap in foil for serveral hours or overnight for best flavor.
