Dessert Tortilla Chips With Chocolate Brandy Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 lbs. of sweet chocolate (broken up)
  • 3/4 cup of butter
  • 3 ounces of brandy
  • 1 1/2 cups of half and half
  • 1 tsp of instant espresso powder
  • confectioner's sugar
  • 1 1/2 dozen flour tortillas
  • 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup of cinnamon
  • Oil

Directions
  1. Melt chocolate and butter in top of double boiler until smooth.
  2. Add half and half, espresso and 1/2 cup of confectioner's sugar.
  3. Beat until the sugar is dissolved.
  4. Add brandy.
  5. Stir and remove from heat.
  6. Keep warm in fondue pot or chafing dish.
  7. Set on buffet table.
  8. Meanwhile prepare your dessert chips.
  9. Cut each tortilla into 8 wedges.
  10. Heat vegetable oil in skillet to 350 degrees.
  11. Fry chips being extra careful not to crowd the pan.
  12. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain well.
  13. Combine granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  14. Put in a shaker can or a saltshaker.
  15. Sprinkle the chips hot out of the oil as heavily as desired.
  16. Place in a basket and serve alongside brandy chocolate sauce.
