How to make it

  • Season meat and put on top rack of a 250 degree oven for 2 hours.
  • Remove from oven, degrease.
  • Trim off obvious fat and discard.
  • Lay sliced onions on top of meat
  • Mix sauce, beer and sugar in a bowl.
  • Pour 1/2 sauce over the meat.
  • Roast 3 more hours., basting every so often with remaining sauce.
  • Slice meat and serve with sauce and onion.
  • **It may sound like a long time, but brisket needs a long time to cook. Leftovers make great sandwiches the next day.
