White Pan Bread

- 1 1/2 cups water (more as needed for ease of dough handling) shopping list
- 1 pkg bakers' yeast shopping list
- 2 1/2 lb bread flour shopping list
- 1 oz salt shopping list
- 1 oz sugar shopping list
- 2 oz nonfat milk powder shopping list
- 1 1/2 oz shortening shopping list
How to make it
- Mixing the dough:
- 10 minutes at 2nd speed.
- OR
- mix by hand, although there will be a lot of mixture to work through!
- Proofing:
- 1 hour at 80°F or until doubled in bulk
- Makeup:
- Pan loaves in whatever shape you prefer.
- This dough will also make rolls.
- Baking:
- 400°F until golden brown and loaves sound hollow when tapped.

- Whole Wheat Bread
- Prepare basic White Pan Bread using
- Bread flour 1 lb ---- 40%
- Whole wheat flour 1 lb 8 oz ------ 60%
