Chicken and Beef Satay with Peanut Sauce

- 8 (10 inch) wooden skewers (you may need more) shopping list
- 1/2 cup heavy cream shopping list
- 1 teaspoon curry powder shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric shopping list
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cumin shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper shopping list
- 3/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 small onion, chopped shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic, minced shopping list
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves shopping list
- 1 small ribeye steak, trimmed shopping list
- PEANUT SAUCE: shopping list
- 1/3 cup smooth peanut butter shopping list
- dash garlic powder shopping list
- dash cayenne pepper shopping list
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice shopping list
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce shopping list
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar shopping list
- 1/3 cup water shopping list
How to make it
- Soak skewers in warm water for 20 to 30 minutes.
- In blender, combine cream, spices, salt, onion and garlic. Process until smooth.
- Cut chicken and beef into 1/4 inch thick slices.
- In bowl, toss chicken and beef strips in marinade. Let stand 15 minutes.
- Preheat broiler.
- Thread some chicken and beef strips onto skewers without crowding, using about three-fourths of the skewer.
- Discard remaining marinade.
- Broil on a well oiled broiler pan for 2 to 3 minutes per side or until just cooked through.
- Meanwhile, in bowl, whisk together sauce ingredients.
- Micorwave sauce 30 to 45 seconds or until smooth and heated through.
- Serve satays with sauce.
