Tasty Grilled Trout
From luchese 15 years agoIngredients
- 1 cleaned trout (1-2 lbs.) {US farm raised is best} shopping list
- 2 tbsp olive oil shopping list
- 1 tbsp dried dill (2 tbsp fresh) shopping list
- 1 tsp coarse salt shopping list
- 1 tsp garlic powder (fresh can be used but may burn on grill) shopping list
- 1 tbsp soy sauce or tamari shopping list
- additional pinch of dill and salt shopping list
- One metal clamshell fish griller big enough for the trout shopping list
How to make it
- Light your grill! You want a medium heat for this recipe, may be tricky with charcoal but probably will taste better. Beware that if heat is too high you may have flameup from the oil
- Rinse the trout and pat dry inside and out
- Sprinkle a pinch of salt and dill inside the fish
- Mix remaining ingredients in a small dish until fully blended
- Just before grilling brush both sides of fish liberally with mixture
- Grill for +/- 10 minutes per side, brushing often
- Once trout skin is sizzling and golden brown, use a fork to check doneness
- Enjoy!

This sounds great...I haven't fixed trout on the grill in years...ex hubby used to fish, and haven't had a fisherman in the "family" in years and years...I'm gonna have to pick some up at the market and give this a try!
