Tasty Grilled Trout Recipe

Tasty Grilled Trout Recipe
Nice easy recipe for fresh trout on the grill, gives a nice crispy finish on the skin and juicy flesh on the inside.

Ingredients
  • 1 cleaned trout (1-2 lbs.) {US farm raised is best}
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp dried dill (2 tbsp fresh)
  • 1 tsp coarse salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (fresh can be used but may burn on grill)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce or tamari
  • additional pinch of dill and salt
  • One metal clamshell fish griller big enough for the trout

Directions
  1. Light your grill! You want a medium heat for this recipe, may be tricky with charcoal but probably will taste better. Beware that if heat is too high you may have flameup from the oil
  2. Rinse the trout and pat dry inside and out
  3. Sprinkle a pinch of salt and dill inside the fish
  4. Mix remaining ingredients in a small dish until fully blended
  5. Just before grilling brush both sides of fish liberally with mixture
  6. Grill for +/- 10 minutes per side, brushing often
  7. Once trout skin is sizzling and golden brown, use a fork to check doneness
  8. Enjoy!

This sounds great...I haven't fixed trout on the grill in years...ex hubby used to fish, and haven't had a fisherman in the "family" in years and years...I'm gonna have to pick some up at the market and give this a try!

Trout, absolutely love it. Great post.
