How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour one 12-cup tube or bundt pan. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar with an electric mixer.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Sift together dry ingredients and add to butter mixture alternating with milk. Begin and end with flour.
  • Stir in extracts.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour 30 minutes or until cake tests done.
  • Glaze:
  • Near the end of baking time, combine ingredients in a small saucepan over medium-low heat.
  • Stir until sugar dissolves.
  • Remove cake from oven and let sit in pan for 10 minutes.
  • Turn cake out onto wire rack with shallow pan underneath.
  • Pour glaze over hot cake then cool completely.
  • Serve with fruit and whipped topping if desired.

  • Experiment with different extracts if you like or use more than five.
