Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1-1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup miniature marshmallows

Directions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, shortening and sugars. Add eggs, one
  2. at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Beat in vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to
  4. creamed mixture. Stir in the oats, chocolate chips and marshmallows.
  5. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls 2 in. apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake at
  6. 350° for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Cool for 1-2 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks to cool completely.
  8. Makes about 6 dozen.
