Steel cut oats or "groats" are the whole oat kernel, not steamed and pressed like rolled oats. They take longer to cook than normal oats, but the result is amazing. I just tried these out for the first time like 40 minutes ago... I CAN'T GO... More

Hi zoe~ (shortening your name a bit) I have been eating steel cut oats for a couple of years now and after its done cooking, I stir in some flax seed meal, brown sugar & cinnamon. I top it with a few dallops of organic yogurt and add a few blueberries & sliced strawberries....its almost like having desert for breakfast! Yes, once you've had steel cut oats, its hard to go back to regular oatmeal~
