Crunchie Rusks

- 1 kg self raising flour - 2lbs shopping list
- 1 cup White sugar shopping list
- 1tsp baking powder shopping list
- 250g butter melted - 1/2lb shopping list
- 2 eggs Beaten shopping list
- 500mls buttermilk - 1 pint shopping list
- (can use regular milk add 2 Tsp lemon juice and let stand for 10 minutes) shopping list
- raisins shopping list
- sunflower seeds shopping list
- cherries shopping list
How to make it
- Mix dry ingredients together
- Pour in milk, egg and butter
- Mix (need a bit of strength here, so those of you with smaller children you will need to help them)
- Grease a grilling pan
- pat mix into pan till even
- Bake 180C for half an hour
- Remove and cut into rusks (I use my electric knife)
- Reduce heat to 100C
- Place rusks on baking sheets and dry out for 4 hours in the oven
- Enjoy
