Ingredients
  • 4 quarts blossoms
  • 4 quarts of boiling water
  • 5 pounds of sugar
  • 1 orange
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 yeast cake

Directions
  1. Press blossoms in the measure. Add boiling water and let stand over night. In the morning boil 20 minutes. Strain through cheese cloth. Add juice of 1 orange and 1 lemon and sugar. When it is cool add yeast cake. Le stand in a jar 3 days, then put in a a jug with a cloth for stopper and let stand for a month. Adding 1/6 package of raisins after it has stood 1 week gives extra kick.

I have heard of dandylion wine and wondered how on earth it was made. Now I know. Since the dandylions are popping up all over our yard and fields, I'll have to give this a try. Thanks for the post.

Whew! I'm gettin' high off the fumes of this one. My grandma used to brew this stuff.
