Ingredients
  • 1 lb. (500 g) boneless beef sirloin steak, cut into thin strips
  • 2 tsp. oil
  • 2 large tomatoes, chopped OR 1 undrained can (19 fl oz/540 mL) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (10 fl oz/284 mL) beef broth
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. dried basil leaves
  • 1-1/2 cups instant white rice, uncooked
  • 1/2 cup KRAFT 4 CHEESE ITALIANO Shredded Cheese

Directions
  1. Cook meat in hot oil in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat 2 min. or until evenly browned, stirring frequently.
  2. Remove meat from skillet; set aside.
  3. Add tomatoes, broth, garlic and basil to skillet. Bring to boil.
  4. Stir in rice; return to boil.
  5. Reduce heat to medium-low; stir in meat.
  6. Top with cheese; cover.
  7. Simmer 5 to 10 min. or until heated through.

Made it in a large sauce pot. Used regular long grain rice, so I had to increase the water and simmer time.

A nice recipe. Like the one pot angle. Added salt.
