Easy Pumpkin Butter Recipe
This is so easy to make and put in the fridge and have on toast or bagels with a little cream cheese. It keeps very nicely and is great to give as gifts in small decorative jars.

Ingredients
  • 1 29 ounce can pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup applesauce
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (more to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (more to taste)

Directions
  1. Mix all ingredients in a medium sauce pan
  2. Bring to a low boil and reduce heat to medium
  3. Cook 15-20 min or until it thickens
  4. When all the flavors meld and it thickens a bit
  5. it tends to be a little shiney
  6. when spread with back of a spoon in the pan.
  7. I pour into a QUART jar and let it cool, then place in fridge

My sister-in-law says it tastes like pumpkin bread. You can add more spices to taste like cloves, nutmeg or whatever suits you.
