Cucumber Raita

- 1 cup plain yogurt shopping list
- 1 small onion, very finely diced, shopping list
- 1 small cucumber, peeled and finely chopped shopping list
- 1/2 tsp black onion seeds (get them at your local Asian shop) shopping list
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder shopping list
- 1 Tbsp oil or ghee shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the oil.
- Add the onion and saute until almost glassy. Add the black onion seeds and stir until you can hear them start to pop.
- Add the cumin and cook until the fragrance comes out.
- Remove from the heat and let cool.
- Mix the yogurt, cucumber and the salt and pepper. Add the cooled onion and spice mixture and stir to combine.
- Put in the refidgerator for about a half hour or overnight.
