How to make it

  • Cook veges until tender but not mushy.
  • In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, sprinkle flour into pan, and whisk and cook until a smooth paste
  • Slowly add milk, whisking constantly until thickened and smooth
  • Add grated cheese, worcestershire,nutmeg, salt and pepper and continue stirring until melted;
  • Mix into vegetables, place in casserole, top with ( fresh or dried )
  • breadcrumbs, dots of butter, and heavy dusting of parmesan cheese
  • Bake 350F till hot and bubbly about 25 to 30 minutes
  • I froze the casserole , then reheated in the oven again
