FRESH PEACH DESSERT This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Pryor Estate in Grapevine, Texas in 1996.

Ingredients
  • 1-1/2 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 6 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 tablespoons white corn syrup
  • 3 tablespoons peach gelatin
  • 1 teaspoon almond flavoring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
  • 4 cups peeled and sliced fresh peaches

Directions
  1. Blend flour, sugar, oil, salt and milk then press into greased rectangular baking pan.
  2. Bake at 325 for 15 minutes.
  3. In a saucepan stir cornstarch and water together until there are no remaining lumps.
  4. Add sugar and corn syrup then boil mixture stirring until thick and remove from heat.
  5. Add gelatin, almond and vanilla flavoring then set aside to cool.
  6. Spread sliced peaches over crust and pour cooled mixture over peaches and refrigerate.
