A simple side dish for a backyard BBQ. A sweet "Boston Baked Bean" taste. modified 7/6/09

Ingredients
  • 1 #10 can of pork and beans 102 oz
  • 1 large yellow onion
  • 1 cup Grandma's Molasses
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 12 oz bacon, cut into 1 inch squares

Directions
  1. Coarsely chop the onion and sauté
  2. Drain pork and beans
  3. Add all ingredients to large bowl and mix
  4. Pour into a 9 X 13 baking dish
  5. Evenly place bacon squares on top of bean mixture
  6. Bake in hot oven, 400 degrees, for 30 minutes or until bacon is browned
  7. Cool slightly before serving
