Ingredients
  • fryer with 1-2 quarts of oil
  • 4 slice of bread ( like Texas white or egg bread
  • 1 egg slightly beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
  • 2 cups bisquick
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Directions
  1. Combine the egg, milk, and extract.
  2. Mix well.
  3. Add the bisquick to the mix and mix until smooth.
  4. Cut 4 slices of bread into nine pieces.
  5. Drop the pieces into the batter to coat,then fry for 2 minutes or until gold brown.
  6. Roll while hot in 1/2 of sugar.

This is something new for me, and sounds soooo good - but I have a question. Do you make 9 pieces out of each slice of bread? I can tell this is good stuff...five forks!

Actually it does not matter how many pieces you cut the bread in. Since the size and shape of bread may vary.!!!! Truthfully, I don't know if each is cut in 9 or there is a total of 9 !
